Record-keeping of waterfowls of Issyk-Kul lake is carried out. Materials of registration have been processed on Issyk-Kul oblast as well as materials of tagging of birds. New tools for birds catching have been repaired and created. Biological samples from 20 birds have been taken.

of Issyk-Kul lake is carried out. Materials of registration have been
processed on Issyk-Kul oblast as well as materials of tagging of birds.
New tools for birds catching have been repaired and created. Biological
samples from 20 birds have been taken.
Due to lack of funding expeditionary trips for the collection of biological samples have not been carried out. Only short-term expedition was organized to Issyk-Kul oblast to register wintering waterfowls on Issyk-Kul lake. In the course of this expedition biological samples from 20 birds have been collected. Catching tools and expedition equipment have been repaired. 23 nets to catch birds with a total length of 250 meters have been produced. The booklet about the project and information for the annual “Innovative Technologies of National Academy of Sciences” has been prepared as well as the article for collected papers of Issyk-Kul nature reserve -“Colonies of waterfowls of Issyk-Kul lake”. Materials for tagging of birds have been processed and reports have been sent to the center of ringing in Almaty (Kazakhstan). Permits for catching and tagging of birds, to visit bordering area and other necessary documents have been obtained. |

The organization of molecular - genetic and virological researches of avian flu |

Due to the absence of poultry farms which can deliver sterile chicken embryos, we used cell cultures for virus isolation. Virological researches have been conducted with transplantable line of cell culture of dog’s kidney (MDCK). |

Total number of conducted researches is 343. 33 species of birds were
exposed to molecular-genetic researches, presence of influenza A were
detected in 3 bird species.

Positive
samples in PCR reaction in a Real time mode with the threshold line
before 30 cycles, thus indicating the presence of sufficient RNA RNase
P gene indicating the specimen is of acceptable quality. At the same
time primary infection and 2 passages on a cell culture have been conducted
out of them in 3 cases (from materials from Night Heron and 2 Mallards
) cytopathogenic virus effect is detected. These isolates are typed
in hemagglutination reaction and hemagglutination inhibition of reaction.
Preliminary results of virological researches see below.

of 307 researches birds, 293 have been researched in Issyk-Kul oblast.
In Issyk-Kul oblast positive samples of avian influenza were found.

During analysis of influenza A virus detection among waterfowls it was determined that more often in the reporting period the positive A influenza sample have been detected among Mallards (2 positive).
