The meaning of travelling

This world is a place for you to learn from others for your development. This can be done through travelling. Travelling is an experience. Those who don’t travel become victims of misunderstandings about rest of the world. Travelling broadens mind, brings people away from routine, reveals facts about the world and tells about different cultures, languages and lifestyles of people living in different parts of the world. It is also the basis of many discoveries, developments and big achievements.

People travel to see other countries and continents, modern cities and the ruins of ancient towns, they travel to enjoy picturesque places, or just for a change of scene. It’s always interesting to discover new things, different ways of life, to meet different people, to try different food, to listen to different musical rhythms. We all know travelling gives us lots of joy, experience and adventures.

The development of a country and its people is closely linked to frequent travelling. When we travel to other countries we get to know about the latest technologies and trends which can be used to make our country more developed and rich with latest machineries, trends and technologies. One of the advantages of travelling is the discovery and exploration of different parts of the world. The first thing that comes to our minds when we talk about travelling is the discovery of United States of America, which was only possible because Christopher Columbus travelled. None of it would have happened if Christopher Columbus didn’t step out of his house in 1492. He believed in the importance of travelling and travelled for miles and years and ended his journey with the discovery of America.

The reasons and advantages of travelling

People from every nook and corner of the world have different lifestyles, culture and languages. When we travel around the world, we come into contact with various people; each of them have their own values and language. Once we get to know a different culture, we can imply its positive aspects for the development of our society. When we travel to different parts of this world, we learn many different languages which makes it easier to communicate with native people.

What are the possible reasons for travelling? Some for friendship, some for excitement, some for escapism, some for history. We all have our reasons. In other words,  the question takes on a slightly different meaning. Why should we travel?

Regardless of our respective reasons for packing our bags and hitting the road, travelling gives us a world of benefit that often goes unrealized. Here are some reasons why travelling is good for us:

1) Wherever You Go, You Grow

New situations spark fresh perspectives. The farther we wander into our world, the larger our individual comfort zones become. The results are free thinking and confidence within ourselves.

2) Travelling Removes “Us” From “Its”

Fresh perspectives change our values. Visiting new places and meeting new people undermines the materialism that surrounds us every day. The results are human centered values rooted on health, happiness, and togetherness.

3) Finding Direction

Our shifting values drive us toward new pursuits. Only when we taste what is offered, we get to know what we like. The more we experience, the more we know what we want.

If we are fond of traveling, we see and learn a lot of things that we can never see or learn at home, though we can read about them in books and newspapers, and see pictures of them on TV. The best way to study geography is to travel, and the best way to get to know and understand people is to meet them in their own homes.

To summarize, we can say that travelling is a life altering experience and (usually) a 'once in a lifetime' experience. As a result  you  have memories, friends and experiences that no one can take away from you. And that is exactly why people set off on trips around the world. They want to see new things, meet new people, learn about different cultures, explore the world in their own pace and actually experience what others only dream about their whole lives. Sure, it requires serious savings and planning. Sure, there will be people around you who do not understand or want you to go. Whatever it is, if we are determined, nothing should stop us.

The means of travelling

People like travelling, but everybody does it in different ways. It depends on many things such as money, time, health and so on. The most popular ways to travel abroad are by plain, train, ship and bus. The most comfortable and quickest way to travel is by air. Also flights are the most expensive way to travel. But it is essential for going to some far countries or across an ocean. If you don’t have much money you can still travel abroad by bus, train or your own car. Travelling by train is very preferable, because it’s both cheap and pretty fast. Moreover while sitting in a comfortable compartment you can watch a view of the whole countryside. Also you can have something to eat or drink in a restaurant-coach. However railway is rarely used for long journeys. Coaches are the cheapest transport, but it’s very uncomfortable for tours. The last but not the least types of travelling are voyage and cruise – going somewhere by sea or along a river. Travelling by ships is probably the best way to relax, get away from routine , get some fresh air and have romantic time. Still there’s one disadvantage of getting seasick, especially if the weather’s rough.

I should mention that one of the most important thing for travelling abroad is to have a passport and enough money despite the way you travel.

Also, you can just go camping. Camping is the best way to spend holidays while not going somewhere abroad. People go to campsites, which are usually near some lakes or mountains, with tents or caravans. While staying there you can go fishing, hiking, mountaineering, cycling, swimming and sunbathing. People make food for themselves in nature, so there are lots of activities to do. Camping is the healthiest way of spending holidays. But there could be some  problems. If it’s near the lake, the biggest problem is mosquitoes. Moreover the weather has to be pretty warm and dry for going camping. In any case, the advantage is the free choice -  where and how to camp.

Trip to Thailand

When people ask me about my favorite country, I always say - Thailand. Every country is amazing in their own way. No country is really better than another – just different. However, Thailand has a special place in my heart. I’d love to travel there too much.

There are many reasons why one might choose to go to Thailand for a vacation. The country is very cosmopolitan and international. If you've ever travelled to Thailand, you would definitely understand how busy the roads are. There doesn't seem to be road rules, and there doesn't seem to be speed limits. Also, there are thousands motorcycles and the special tourist transport devices called Tuk Tuks. Tuk Tuks are relatively cheap mini Taxi's and you won't turn one corner without a friendly Thai person coaxing you to use their Tuk Tuk.

There are global food chains, international restaurants, stores, Starbucks, and Hollywood movies. Thailand is a melting pot of people and you’ll find people from all around the world. One can make friends here from France, Germany, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Japan. In its own way, Thailand is an excellent tourist destination due to its cheap prices, welcoming people, beautiful beaches, adventurous trekking, delicious cuisine, fascinating culture, and modern infrastructure. The country manages to attract over 9 million visitors every year who want to see the sights and listen to sounds of this exciting Southeast Asian country.

There are many reasons for choosing Thailand as a tourist destination.

1. The Weather and Beaches

Even though there is a monsoon season in Thailand, and for those who loves the heat, the fact that it is always hot and humid would appeal. There is no jacket weather and one can always wear a t-shirt and shorts.

What I like there is beautiful beaches.

You are really confused and it is really up to you which ones you go to. Some of the most beautiful ones that I have seen on the island are of Ko Pha Ngan, southward from the mainland.

2. The People

The Thai people are very friendly and welcoming. Thais are some of the nicest people you can ever meet. They are always happy, always smiling, extremely polite and always helpful. They will help you if you are in trouble and help translate for you if you can’t speak Thai. They treat you well and whenever I come back here, the local shop owners greet everybody with a warm smile and big hug. Thais have amazing memory and once a friend, is always a friend. You will always feel safe in Thailand. Thais rarely steal or cause any problems. Thailand is often called "The Land of Smiles" and it really gives life to its name. If you visit Thailand you can  be sure to make a lot of new friends.

3. The Atmosphere

Thailand has a unique atmosphere that is not very laid back. You can take your time to enjoy the surroundings and take things at your own way. This is another thing that makes Thailand so special.

4. The Food

Thai food is delicious and extremely healthy. You will find that you don’t need to cook because the food is affordable,  you can just eat out whenever you like. There is a wide range of seafood, noodles and rice dishes. You can eat at local markets, food stalls and restaurants. There are plenty of options for you to choose. Your mouth dances with a concert of flavors when you eat here.

All over the streets of Thailand, outdoor stalls serve up the cheapest and best Thai meals you can find. And no matter what time of the day it is, there’s always food available.

5. The Temples

Thailand has some magnificent temples that you can visit during the day. Some of the most spectacular ones are in the capital city of Bangkok but there are many others all around the country.

6. The Nightlife

If you like to party than Thailand could be the place for you. There is always something going on whether you are in Bangkok or staying at one of the islands. There are usually posters everywhere letting you know what is happening and when.

7. The Adventure

Thailand is in the middle of everything. It’s 3 hours to Hong Kong, 2 hours to Singapore, 4 hours to Bali, half way between Australia and Europe. You can get to a lot of places easily from Thailand, if you are a traveler like me, is really appealing. And, you can get to many of these destinations cheap. The most exciting thing about Thailand is that you never know what will happen next. It is one big adventure from the minute you arrive. I think this is what keeps me coming back there again and again. You really should do it yourself!

So here are my reasons why I definitely prefer to visit Thailand If you do decide to visit "The Land оf Smiles" then it will surely be an unforgettable experience, which you do never forget.
